FRI 26 APRIL 2019 | REACTIVE DOG COURSE | 4 WEEKS (OUTDOORS)

Reactive Dog  Course | hosted by Minds Alike

Does your dog bark or growl at other dogs? Are you starting to dread having to go for a walk?

Then let's do something about it!

In this 4 week course we will look at management strategies and basic obedience to ensure that you dog is focused and you can help him or her in tricky situations without making things worse for either of you.

We will also look at critical distances - that vital threshold whereby if your dog steps over that line s/he will react, and if s/he stays behind the line, s/he will be able to make some good choices and manage his/her own behaviour beautifully.

Most importantly we will build your dogs confidence in proximity to other dogs, and your confidence that together you can handle the situations that life may throw at you.

The skills learnt within class will make you a better handler, and will provide your dog with learning opportunities which can transfer to real life situations too!

THU 28 MAR 2019 | SOCIAL & CONNECTION SKILLS | 4 WEEKS (OUTDOORS)

Social and Connection Skills | hosted by Minds Alike

This 4 week course are great as a standalone course if you only feel you struggle with recall and your dog listening around other dogs, or as a compliment to your obedience course. It is also great for socialisation purposes.

We will work in a field location where you will work on recall games, whistle cues and stop on command training. We will also look at how the dogs are interacting and walking together, what is (and isn’t) appropriate play and socialisation, and learn to read the dogs’ body language and understand their interactions.

This is appropriate for dogs from 3 months old. If we have any large breed dogs (i.e. Labrador or larger) we will be mindful of their age and not wishing to over exercise their joints.

The class will be between 45-60 minutes, depending on the dogs present.

This also a great opportunity to meet other like-minded owners, (who may become future walking buddies!) that also want to instil good training and behaviour.
